In the Field

The process of building out and refining The Togetherness Practice continues. We are actively prototyping this work with partners around the world, seeking input to inform its evolution including the development of new resources and engagement strategies.

You can see examples of how the Togetherness Practice is being applied here:

  • Manchester UK

In the Greater Manchester region of the UK, this work has been integrated into a leadership development programme for Headteachers: New Capabilities for a New World.  Leaders integrated their learning at the levels of self, school and system to develop new strategies around careers and personal development education. You can read more about this programme and the new capabilities framework that emerged.

  • “I have found that over time The Togetherness Practice has become like a map or a guidebook that reveals itself just when I need it most. While seemingly straightforward at first, the core insights have revealed themselves as a North Star when I navigate dynamic tensions amongst a diverse set of climate stakeholders; cultural blind spots in corporate change efforts; and internal perspective as a leader… mother, partner, and friend. It’s a practice I hope and plan to carry into small and large endeavors alike, anytime I have the clarity to remember that not only can I not do it alone, but I can't do it if I'm not whole, and that wholeness is supported in right community. “

  • Arizona State University

Arizona State University is incorporating this work into a new professional development course designed for people who support the development of others (educators, leaders, coaches, etc.). This course, developed in partnership with ASU’s Principled Innovation work is expected to be publically available beginning in the fall of 2023.

  • “I am so glad to have discovered the Togetherness Practice. I have been using it in my workshops to help participants build their capacity to access collective intelligence, and it is not only effective, but also uplifiting for those using it. Authentic connection, as these tools makes clear, is energizing! I have gotten comments from participants like “the space felt safe and comfortable” and “I identified some stuck spots and identified others that need healing” that I think are directly attributable to the Togetherness Practice. Thank you so much for creating it and making it available.”

  • Leading Together with Inspire To Change

Leading Together is a cohort experience designed to empower participants with the skills and insights necessary to navigate and influence complex systems effectively. • “For me, The Togetherness Practice has opened up a more integrated mode of thinking. It reminds me to step back, connect with my thoughts, feelings, and deeper sense of purpose as I consider the challenges I face. It reminds me that I am a work in progress - continually growing the capacities I need to make the contribution I want to make. I have found the leaders I work with in the education sector very receptive to the Togetherness Practice as helps them become more aligned, coherent and purposeful as they do their important work in the world.”

  • “Something fundamentally changed in my approach to innovation and leadership as a result of practicing togetherness.

The prompts helped bridge my work and motivation to a profound part of myself, enabling me to align my passion and purpose with the work I do.”
